Hello Linda! Nowadays, we use either VS2005 (on Windows) or Mono + NAnt (on Mac/Linux) We don't have a Getting Started guide, really. The only way to get aquainted with the library really is to jump right in. What is it that you want to use libsecondlife for? Of course, the mailing list and IRC (irc.efnet.net #libsl) are full of people that are willing to help. Also, I advise you check out the AnimationsSample project in the examples directory. I hope it's a good demo for working with creating and sending packets. Also, svn up before you do *any* work, and sign up for the libsecondlife-commits mailing list. Things are most definitly NOT stable arround here ^_^
Happy libsling! Jesse Malthus On 10/17/06, Lynne Whitehorn-Umphres <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

I have the build trees, no problem, but am at a loss at to what tools can/should be used. For instance, with VS2005 I've been unable to get what I thought was the stable branch to compile, with lots of "feature is deprecated" messages and the like. What are other people using for development tools?
