I was going to wait until after the release before I merge in the CMake build system. Also, I would like some sort of community 'nod' before doing so. If the opinion is that this should go in sooner, just let me know and I'll push it. FWIW, I think it's in pretty good shape and (currently) leaves the existing autotool build system in place for everything other than Windows.
