Hi, the libssh project would like to become a member of the Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC) [1]. Software Freedom Conservancy is a nonprofit organization centered around ethical technology. It would provide the libssh project a legal home. Also this way we would be able to accept donations or bounties [2]. Currently we donate the money to the SFC. As a member the project would keep the money (-10% which still would go to the SFC).
The libssh team has requested a membership to the SFC and we have been accepted. Aris, Jakub and me drafted the SFC membership agreement which is attached to that mail. In case you wonder about the filename, personal addresses have been redacted from this version of the document. The agreement is between the SFC and the biggest contributors to the project [3]. We would like to discuss this step with the community. Please read the document and raise any concerns you have.
