Well, I think cl will run the link that is in the same dir as cl itself, so my theory was that configure should set LD to the link that is in the same dir as cl. I.e. this matters for the case where there are multiple MSVC installed and in PATH, but is perhaps a bit overdesigned... Cheers, Peter
