Compilinging Libtool on Solaris 8

Is anyone framiliar with geting libtool to compile on solaris 8 using
resources from sunfreeware?

I need to know what packages I need to install/compile to make libtool
compile.  Right now after it comiles ltdl.c and then run's libtool, I get
the following error

./libtool: ar: not found

I get this when trying to compile other things such as php.
