Yeah, I recall your posting about it.  But I don't recall having seen
a patch; did you get to post it?

I think CC is the right tag name.  Anyway, given that it's just a case
matching, we might recognize all of `C', `CC' and `default'.  But we
should probably arrange for ltconfig to reject creating such tags, to
avoid confusion.
