I have some recollection of there being a `test' that has no numeric
operations -- hence their absence from the Goat book. Unfortunately I
don't recall which platform in particular :-(
That said, I see some uses of -gt in autoconf, so I guess that in
practice, there are no real users that are affected by this problem any
more...
