What do you mean by your driver? And you say "most time",
so even with your driver (Windows or Linux?), it still does not
work sometimes, right?

No matter what libusb does, the drive should not be kicked
out of the USB bus.

Again the suggestion is to try a new kernel to see if
that helps. Or you can try to run USB compliance
test to see whether your device is compliant to
USB specs.
