With the final votes in, I went ahead and pushed a commit that shall 
ensure our sources are UTF-8.

Turns out that we only had 2 files that were actually UTF-8 (3 if you 
count AUTHORS: core.c and sync.c). The rest were very much ISO-8859-1 
still, so it looks like I screwed up more than the examples during the 
last conversion. Hopefully this time, we should be good.

Just for the record, none of the source editors I tried on Windows 
seemed to have much problem determining that the source was UTF-8, and 
display it accordingly.
