Note that I have just replaced the tarball with a new one to fix the file attributes issues we had in the previous one (which wasn't due to running make dist on Windows, but from using Samba to copy the repo to Linux before running make dist there). It looks like we had a bit too many executable permissions on our files. For what is worth, we have an unwanted X attribute on the wbs_wince.txt in .private, but of course that doesn't matter for the tarball, and I'll fix that in a future commit.
