Ben, The problem with high-resolution timers is the fact that their callbacks are running on the same thread as the libuv loop. Usually, syscalls are taking a couple of microseconds and sometimes more, thus making impractical usage of timer intervals < 100 us.
However, if you still see a use case for them - please share it with us, perhaps, we could figure out something together. Cheers, Fedor.
