The documentation says:
http://docs.libuv.org/en/latest/stream.html#c.uv_read_start
"When nread < 0, the buf parameter might not point to a valid buffer; in
that case buf.len and buf.base are both set to 0."

In other words me may also see a valid buffer (buf.len > 0, buf.base !=
NULL) with nread < 0 arrive.  How do we treat the data in that buffer in
this case -- as valid data?  What if nread == UV_EOF and we have a valid
buffer?
