-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, good people, so this is the situation after Monday: 1) libwpd2 has branch STABLE-0-8-0 for bug-fixes of 0.8.x series 2) writerperfect has branch STABLE-0-7-0 for bug-fixes of 0.7.x series. Maybe a release of 0.7.2 would not be bad idea 3) libwpd2 head produces now a libwpd 0.9.0 and it means also that the soname is changed libwpd-0.9.so* and libwpd-stream-0.9.so*. The libwpd head and libwpd stable are parallel installable including their headers, since the libwpd-0.9.0 will install them into $LIBDIR/libwpd-0.9/ and libwpd-0.8.x into $LIBDIR/libwpd-0.8/. I did not jugde too interesting to rename the tools, so one has to decide whether one wants to have the 0.9.x or 0.8.x wpd2foo tools. 4) writerperfect head depends now on libwpd >= 0.9.0 and produces a valid OpenDocument Text. The tool is called wpd2odt and thus it is parallel installable with wpd2sxw. The conversion results of all our regression-suite documents validate against the 1.1 strict schema (but are using only 1.0 subset of features for the sake of backward compatibility). Note just that xmllint will not give the best results validating against the strict schema because of unimplemented parts. At least, with the document of the regression suite, it complains about the absence of optional elements, which is not right. For the while, the most useful validation tool in terms of useful error messages is https://msv.dev.java.net/. Certain patched versions of jing can do the job too, but you will have to find the right patch and always run it with the "-i" switch. xmllint has the habit to segfault on invalid documents instead of giving information about errors. Nonetheless, it can validate a valid document, which means that it is possible to have a writerperfect validation test in the regression suite.
OK, let me see how far I will go tomorrow.
