Greetings! March 5, 2000 =========================================================================== http://www.ForOurLordJesusChrist.org seeks to be of help as we all seek to begin and/or strengthen our walk with Jesus Christ. These email notes present highlights and recent developments. If you would prefer to stop receiving these notes, just click "Reply", and enter a note to that effect. =========================================================================== "For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him." (2 Chronicles 16:9a) =========================================================================== "ONE PAGE - THAT IS WORTH A COUPLE OF MINUTES EACH DAY" is a major new objective of ours. We will still seek to be broad in coverage, and a forum for meaningful Christian material of any length. We want to be a beginning place for all sorts of Christian pursuits. But we also want to be sure that a brief visit is worthwhile. So we are revising the first page. It will no longer be an "Introduction" and an "Index". Instead it will: - Be SHORT - CHANGE EVERY DAY - Be a page of NEWS, PRAYER, BIBLE STUDY and WORSHIP If you only have time for one page on the Internet, we want http://www.ForOurLordJesusChrist.org to be one that deserves your attention. Of course, we trust that you will also move on into the website from time to time. =========================================================================== PRAYER CHANGED MY LIFE - Bob Sibley Do you ever have a need to speak with God? Do you have urges to call out to Him, sharing your innermost thoughts, needs and desires? Is there a longing to be closer and closer to Him - fearful that you may miss a wish of His? Is there ever a desire or even a hunger for more time with Him - praising and glorifying His Name - studying His word, and feasting in His Spirit? Is missing a time with the Lord as bad as missing a favorite meal, missing a favorite TV show, or being away from the love of your life? These feelings are new for me. Two years ago, they simply did not exist. They had never existed. After 46 years as a Christian, and 34 years as a deacon, prayer was mostly a routine, sometimes an honor, often an obligation, and occasionally, an act of last resort. Only one thing changed - With the help of some folks at my church, I made a commitment to prayer. It was a small commitment, but it is growing month by month, and at times, I wonder if it will consume me. Actually, I believe that this is what God has in mind - that communication with him will consume you and I and every one of his children. Perhaps this is large part of what heaven is all about. AND MY PRAYER IS: "Dear Father, thank you for your mercy and the salvation that you have given us in Jesus Christ. Please forgive us for all of our sins and shortcomings. Draw us near to you, and begin a new work of grace in all of us. Make us the people that you want us to be. Fill Your Church with your fresh wind and fresh fire. Break our pride, soften our hearts, and fill us to overflowing with your Holy Spirit. Lord, continue to give Your ministers bold dreams, and give their congregations the wisdom and the strength to support those dreams. O God, do all of this so that the name of Jesus will be exalted throughout the earth. - Amen" =========================================================================== May God richly bless you and yours, [EMAIL PROTECTED] (713)465-5106
