My webhost has a web interface for managing my account. This includes
allowing me to view and modify source code with a form. All Ampersand
codes, such as (hard space) are converted directly to ascii, ie, the
code is gone and only the character remains. The webpages still render
fine, but when I transfer them by FTP ASCII transfer or copy and paste, the
hard spaces become soft ones. This is a real pain in the butt.
I told the webhost that it seemed their forms were handled by a perl script
and were converting the characters, but got a cold response.
