So THAT'S what you wanted to do. I didn't realize that, we only ever talked about the "use HTTP::TransparentCache qw/.../" scenario.

That makes sense. I'll support that kind of syntax in the next version.
But I think it will have to be


perl '-MHTTP::TransparentCache qw(BasePath /tmp/cache)' yourscript.pl

Or you could supply a reasonable BasePath by default, perhaps using File::Spec->tmpdir();
