HTML::HeadParser build failure: utf8

My Perl version is 5.6.0, built for darwin (Mac OS X 10.2.5, 300 MHz Power PC G3)

HTML::HeadParser from package HTML-Parser-3.45 didn't build properly:
t/headparser......../\x{FEFF}/: Can't use \x{} without 'use utf8' declaration at blib/lib/HTML/HeadParser.pm line 211.
