How have y'all tried to get ahold of Sam.

I found samc at rubyforge and freebsd.org email addresses.  Also found his
linkedin page at http://www.linkedin.com/in/seanc

I think a fork would just confuse things and a re-write would just drag this
project out that much longer.  I (and it appears alot of others)
unfortunately have no C skills worth mentioning which would help.

The ruby libxml bindings are critical to my project and I certainly want to
see this library succeed.  If I had the funds to hire someone to work on the
bindings, I would.
