I just tried to install on MacOS X 10.5 with libxml2 installed via MacPorts
and got the following:
 extconf failure: Your version of libxml2 is too old.  Please upgrade.

I last upgraded my MacPorts maybe a month back.  I'll see if there's a newer
libxml package, but this is something of a pain in the neck.
