There was a thread last June
(http://rubyforge.org/pipermail/libxml-devel/2009-June.txt), where
similar error happened:

"gem update --system" did NOT help :(
We posted on some forum (e.g.: http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/204954)
and someone suggested to contact the devs. A bug is already raised
regarding the issue:

Could you help us if there is a workaround - we really need to use
this library as one of our core component is dependant on it...
