Depends on your country - in the UK for one, there is a Commission who
have some major poewrs to *stop* any monopolies from forming - the only
monopolies allowed are state-granted, and often the companies in
question used to be nationalised or still are (eg The Royal
Mail/Consignia) - and there's not many of these!!
