In general, OSI doesn't certify licenses unless the creator of the license submits them. In my personal opinion (I don't speak for OSI), the ZPL by itself is an Open Source license without patent permissions. Its copyright provisions are very similar to the Mozilla Public License. The other two are not Open Source licenses, but specifically defer to the ZPL and other Open Source licenses in respect of any software released under those licenses. -- John Cowan http://www.ccil.org/~cowan co...@ccil.org Consider the matter of Analytic Philosophy. Dennett and Bennett are well-known. Dennett rarely or never cites Bennett, so Bennett rarely or never cites Dennett. There is also one Dummett. By their works shall ye know them. However, just as no trinities have fourth persons (Zeppo Marx notwithstanding), Bummett is hardly known by his works. Indeed, Bummett does not exist. It is part of the function of this and other e-mail messages, therefore, to do what they can to create him. _______________________________________________ License-discuss mailing list License-discuss@opensource.org http://projects.opensource.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/license-discuss
