Configure Trac to force people to be registered before posting is quickly
done. The question is if we really want to do that?
No, we don't. If we require an account for them to submit/change
bugreports then the spam bots will just make an account and then do
it. What needs to be done is some kind of captcha plugin when bug
reports are created or changed.
There is an advantage in being able to submit bugreports without first going
through a registration process. But then on the other hand, it really helps
to know the email of the reporter to be able to ask for more information if
needed. But email is currently not required when registering a new account.
Should we require that as well?
I really think anonymous reports are the best. If the details are
lacking and we are unable to contact the reporter, then we can just
wait for more detailed reports, but until then we have at least some
record of the bug.
