When MSN is not loaded, aforementioned status in ICQ is displayed as: Icon (Online). When MSN is loaded then (Online) is stripped off. Which means that a single sign of invisibility is gone. Why icon does not change?
For ICQ, invisibility is set in addition to your status. So, for it to be properly shown to the user, it needs an overlay to the status icon. This needs to be fixed at some point.
1) (Icon Online) -- w/o MSN, (Icon) -- w/ one, or
Each protocol can have a different status, so each protocol instance needs its own icon.
2) just forget about the stripping text status.
We would have to show text for each protocol instance though, as they may differ. We could, in theory, add text for the case when they are the same, but I think this is a bad design decision. The correct decision is getting icon overlays working.
