This isn't good - this breaks the nice behaviour of being able to see your unread messages if you have another plugin loaded (e.g. licqweb or console), as they may be marked as read straight away from the qt/kde-gui even though you're away/na and you haven't read them. Can this be reverted? If anything it could be (yet another) config option, default off of course.
