I looked into it once, and didn't get very far at all. Problems with pthreads and many other issues. I thought I had heard someone got at least the console plugin working, but I can't confirm this. In any case, I would recommend simply using Miranda ICQ (http://miranda-icq.sf.net/) which is a really decent client.
