it used to happen to me, until i just make clean and compiled all the
things again.
as cvs is a development version, is unusefull to compile it without
debuging symbols. in configure use --enable-debug. binaries without that
those are unusefull to track errors. with the core file it easy to know
where is happening the error, and gives maybe gives you a hint on how to
reproduce it.
