I had another problem compiling the qt-gui-plugin. I used autoconf 2.52 and automake 1.4-p5. The error message was (iirc) | src/Makefile:253: missing separator while Makefile 253ff. was | @AMDEP_TRUE@@am__include@@am__quote@$(DEPDIR)\ | /adduserdlg.Plo@am__quote@ | @AMDEP_TRUE@@am__include@@am__quote@$(DEPDIR)\ | /authuserdlg.Plo@am__quote@ | @AMDEP_TRUE@@am__include@@am__quote@$(DEPDIR)\ | /awaymsgdlg.Plo@am__quote@ | @AMDEP_TRUE@@am__include@@am__quote@$(DEPDIR)\ | /chatdlg.Plo@am__quote@ | ... Upgrading to autoconf-2.53 and automake-1.6.2 solved the problem.
