Hello,

I have one user that changes his icq client and I was needed to change the
enconing for hime from KOI8-R to CP1251. I was really surprised when I saw
all my history for him showed in the wrong encoding. As I understand the
history is stored in the 8-bit mode without storing codepage of each message.
I am suggesting to store history in the utf-8 encoding. This will alow to
read history for engish language histories and this will alow for me to
change the encoding of the user's messages without having problems with the
hostory.

Also, this my friend have first and last names written in russian and in the
header of licq send chatmode messageview it shows in the invalid codepage. If
I change to user's codepage to old it shows in the right codepage. It seems
that licq stores user's info in the 8-bit mode.

As a conclustion I will suggest to store ALL info in the confir files in the
utf-8 encoding.

Any comments?
Alexander Litvinov.
