There is a misunderstanding: .po and .ts files do exactly the same thing, they are both SOURCE files for translators. You either translate the .po file OR the .ts file but you NETHER translate both. - -> .po files become obsolete soon and will be deleted in the near future, they are a relict from QT2. - -> .ts files are the follower of .po files, they are the new standard coming with QT3. the .qm files are the binary version of either your .po or your .ts. They contain all your translated strings in a binary form, so that QT programs can use it. The difference between the po or ts files is the way how you translate them: for po files you can use KBabel for example or your preferred texteditor, for ts files you can use linguist (comes with QT3). choose yourself, the resulting .qm will always be the same, doesn't matter if you translated the po or the ts file, they both result in the same .qm. I hope this clears some things up :) Thomas - -- Living your life is a task so difficult, it has never been attempted before. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE9yP8m+83LmoKU5MARAsiwAJ9mOcH/Rzbll4EMGUEkg9XxKAbY0ACgqiTI AZJ3Pxsa+02cQC3p6tOZOfk= =plru -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: See the NEW Palm Tungsten T handheld.
