Did you register a new UIN?
How many characters does your password have? more than 9 chars?
Go to the system-menu -> system-functions -> password/security options and 
change your password (locally), only type in the first 9 characters and save 
it. try to re-logon.
if this does not help, go to icq.com website and try logon there, click on 
"forgot password", they will send you the new password.

please tell me if this solves your problem!
if this does help you, then we will soon have a fix for that.

jon: if my solution helps him, then i will give you a detailed description of 
this bug and how to solve it. i'm pretty sure that i have tracked down this 
bug to its roots.
