2) Let gpg use a gpg-agent. This would be a fairly convenient way for me but not for the user who has to install NewPG, pinentry, a gpg-agent-daemon and whatever else. I don't think the average packaged-GnuPG user wants this. BTW, I haven't managed gpg-agent to work yet although I've tried hard ;) I don't know whether gpgme supports gpg-agents, too.
I would prefer this solution. Many users of KMail are already using it this way. Upcoming Distributions will have pre-configured installations of NewPG. At least here in germany this will become the solution of how to communicate online with the government (NewPG is needed for S/MIME support).
Can you tell me how to setup a gpg-agent? And what do you think about executing qt-/gtk-/curses-pinentry from within licq?
