Hi!

Probably you don't know me, neither I know you (in person at least ;). You may
not even read all this mail. But the fact is that there is something which
mantains a ring between me and you: Linux Software. While you can freely
acquire all this software through the net, most times without any
retribution, people tend to forget that someone, somewhere, is working hard
to make all that possible. I feel really sad that many times because I forget
to say "thank you" to someone who makes a good act for me. In fact, you
aren't doing anything exclusively for me, but for mankind (oh, how heroic! --
nah, it's serious! :)). You make the software and you should get recognized
on each person-who-use-it's mind. But the fact is that most people don't
remember that. I've seen many people complain that when there's a bug, people
complain, blame, gasp, cry, moan, and make all the sounds, say all the words
you wouldn't like to hear someone doing/saying while using your hardworked
source code. On the other hand, when it works, it just works. They don't say
neven a little good word like "oh, thanks to this people who made this
software now I can chat with my friends through the net, I can send mails to
my grandmother and take pictures with my digicam and print it on my computer!
I am eternally grateful!". The fact is: I am not this person. That's why I am
saying right now:

THANK YOU!!

THANK YOU!!

I know sometimes a small message matters...

Be aware, YOU make a big difference for me!

If you don't care about this email, no problem, you have the right. But I do
care; that's why I am sending it.
If you think this email is useless and without purpose, I don't care. You may
even laugh at it, but I know it matters.
If you think I am an idiot sentimental person, you may be right. But I am that
idiot sentimental person that makes a difference. That is thanking for you
all the hours you spent in front of a computer, working hard to make possible
I be writing this email for you, while I chat on the net with my friends,
"surf" on the web, download something, play a game, ...

There's only one thing I feel sorry. I feel sorry for not making it possible
to thank in person for each of you. For not being able to shake your hand and
paying you a beer while we talk about all this. For not making it possible to
get all the correct email addresses (I hope you forward or just say "someone
said thank you! remember this!" to the right person...). For not remembering
someone or something or even not knowing that someone I didn't send this
email made a difference on all this...

Once more, thank you. And Remember this while you are down. People care about
you! I care about you! :)

Best wishes,
-
