A release should be done with AIM support, but not protocol plugin support.  
Since there have been some bug fixes in other parts.  But the problem is that 
the config files must be updated.  That was meant to be done for Licq 1.3.0, 
but either Licq 1.3.0 will support ICQ/AIM only or Licq 1.2.9 will support 
ICQ/AIM and require the upgrade script to be run.  But as Thomas said, there 
is no time frame.
