Hey list, hey translators :-) the time of everything beeing boring is over *g* Since today the daemon can be translated to your favorite language. Let's begin translation :)
Here are a few basics steps you have to take: - checkout a fresh copy of licq from the CVS: "cvs -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/licq co licq" If your new licq sources don't have the "m4" and "po" directory, you might have to wait a few hours till the anonymous CVS servers are syncronized. - call "make -f Makefile.cvs" and "./configure", this will generate the makefiles - Now change into the po directory and create your po file: "cp licq.pot de.po" -> where "de.po" es your language code + .po. So if you want to create the russian translation for example, you would create ru.po. - Edit the file LINGUAS and include the new language. It is a list of space-separated entries, so "de" becomes "de ru" if you want to include the new russian translation. - Edit the header of the new ru.po file. - Run "make update-po" inside the po directory - Begin translating the ru.po file. There might be bugs. And i have to write a little README for this. Please tell me about any problems you might encounter, i'll take them into account! The first idea for daemon translation came from Gustavo Pichorim Boiko in july 2003, thank you for your patch gustavo :-) Error messages will not be included into the po files, but warnings and info message will be. If you find messages that i missed, please tell me. And if i marked messages for translation, that should better not be translated, please also tell me.
