Licq cannot know if your link is up or down. So the is no automatic on/offline detection.
Regarding the freeze, i cannot reproduce it here. Can you still reproduce it with current CVS version?
i understand that licq cannot know the link status ... it happened with the last cvs... i'll try to reproduce and send the full debug output
