Many people are working on the qt-gui plugin, mainly jon, partly me when i have time for it, and many others create patches. Your proposed patch sounds very interesting, please send it to this list. You can do this with all your patches, including a description what your patch is supposed to do and what changes are involved. Your patch will then be reviewed and maybe discussed by jon or me.
