Well, I sent a Russian message "ok, тестовое сообщение -- this is cyrillyc characters in codepage cp1251" and it was sent successfully.. before I fixed the code, it gave the error about unable to encode to utf16. if it is still not working, I will look into it when I get a chance. maybe not until tomorrow night. If it doesn't work, just use cvs from May 20, 2005. See the SF.net bug report as the cvs command to download it. Jon
