Hey,
       Thanks for your reply :) I downloaded the latest cvs snap-shot.
Still the same error when I run autoconf :( my path includes -

PATH="/usr/kerberos/sbin:/usr/kerberos/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/home/andrew/bin:/usr/include/g++-2:/usr/lib:/usr/include:/home/andrew/bin:/usr/include/g++-2:/usr/lib:/usr/include"

I can find vector.h at /usr/include/g++-3/vector.h
so this should be covered as a sub-directory of /usr/include (from above
in my path).

also - fyi

$rpm -q gcc-c++
gcc-c++-3.0.2-0.1

I'm sure it will only be the simplest thing - but it's driving me nuts
trying to find it :)

Any more ideas? :)

Cheers,
           Andrew.
