Hi
I do not expect any answer as I'm not subscribed anymore but i have a
feature/bug request for the FAQ :)
---------------------------------------------------------
3.12: I can't connect to someone using the ICQ200b client!
ICQ 2000b by default is set to not allow connections with older clients, like
Licq. To work around this, the ICQ 2000 user must go into the ICQ Menu, then
Security and Preferences, and then the Ignore tab.
They must uncheck the "Do not allow Direct Connection with previous ICQ
software versions" box. Also, on the Direct Connection tab, they must make
sure that the Allow Direct Connection selection is set appropriately for this
instance. It can vary.
---------------------------------------------------------
Could someone Update this FAQ so that it becomes clear that whenever a friend
uses the 2000b/2001 ICQ he has to disable the mentioned security features.
I myslef had the problem that they were fro me offline even when they set me
on their visible list and allways online ...
and I couldn't send them an autorisation ....
Until they allowed the accress via the insecure 98 protocol :)
Or in othere words the above is esential in any case.
Ok I admit when reading carefully the above already expresses the stuff i
sayed but would it possible to say it a bit more general and direct :)
