/is it possible/ that you used the RPM version, or an old version, and
it still uses the old daemon with the new GUI, or the new daemon with
the old GUI?
Are there files in /usr/lib/licq/ if yes: delete them, and check if you
have deleted the rpms. (rpm -qa |grep licq).

else its a mistery to me :)
i suggest you would try a new snapshot (check if the date really is
current, if not, pull from cvs (at sourceforge's project page).

You could post on the devel list if this all doesn't help.
