I've received plain text messages from hotmail users before now (in
fact I just tested it and it didn't seem to give me the option of

As I mentioned, Red Hat 7.3 comes with licq-1.1.0 (cvs20020416).

It may be possible to get away with grabbing the SRPM for that and
compiling it on Red Hat 7.2 without having to upgrade anything else
(just type "rpm --rebuild <name of SPRM file>"), but I haven't tried
this.
