hi

i have to send the same message to about 200 people (~ half of my contact list).
since i can remember that the feature "send to multiple recipients" doesn't work
properly (or at least did never work when i tried it) i tried another way.
i thought writing a shell script that reads the UINs and nicknames from a file and
sending the message to my contacts will do it:

---
while read ICQ_UIN
do

echo message $ICQ_UIN '"test message"' > /home/test/.licq/licq_fifo

done </etc/usrscripts/icq/icq_uins
---

but that didn't work, or only half:
first i got a error message "broken pipe" and licq crashed. it seemed that the message
had been sent to about 20 people (though i can't tell, i have the message in my
history, but some people told me, that they didn' receive anything.
then i though maybe i'm sending it too fast which is very likely, so i put a "sleep 2"
into the script. now licq didn't crash, but it didn't last very long and the
icq-server kicked me, i went offline.
it sent about 5-10 messages, or at least i have the message in the history of those
contacts...

is there anything i could do to send this message?

thx!!
JG
