[Licq-main] help please

Hello, I am new to Linux and Licq. I am running red hat 8 w/ kde. My problem(s) are that I cannot read peoples n/a, away etc messages nor can other people read mine. When they try to read my status message they get an error that says something along the line of "By doing this operation your IP will be sent to the user" Now they are all windows users and I don't know anyone else with linux that can see if they get the same result. If you could please help me or direct me in the right direction I would be very thankful.
