Hmm, sounds like the owner file got messed up. Can you shut down Licq
and then edit the ~/.licq/owner.Licq file.  Look for the line that
says "NewMessages = <num>" and change the number to 0. Save the file,
close it, and restart Licq. You can then look in the History of your
system messages to see what it was. My guess is that a read system
message wasn't marked as read in the file, so it's not there. I'll fix
this before the next release.
