thx, that was the answer i was waiting for! i needed to install
libxss-dev and now it works just fine. now i just have to email the
ubuntu package maintainer, that he has to rebuild the packages. :)

You have to have the XScreenSaver extension for you XServer. I'm
pretty sure that it's normal for it to be installed automatically.
Take a look at the config.log you got when you compiled look and
search for ac_cv_lib_Xext_XScreenSaverRegister and
ac_cv_lib_Xss_XScreenSaverRegister. For it to work, one of them has to
say yes. If they both say no, you'll have to install this... try
google for info about it, cuz it has always been installed by default
for me.
