Hi, I haven't found a possibility to exchange german messages including Umlauts (äöüßÄÖÜ). Whatever charset I choose in options (but as I might have read lately, this only applies to the contacts in main window?), either the chars I _receive_ are replaced by a square or not shown (I had blanks as well as no chars at all).
This happens at home, where I am using licq 1.3.2 with SUSE Linux 10, as well as under a manually compiled licq 1.3.2 under Debian at work (versions from oss.erdfunkstelle.de). At home my standard system charset is LANG=UTF-8, LC_TYPE=de_DE.UTF-8, at work LC_CTYPE and LANG are just POSIX, i. e. us-ascii is standard(?). Most of my friends are using Trillian on Windows. I didn't test it with other clients so far. Is there a solution to this problem? Do I have to start licq with something like [EMAIL PROTECTED]> LANG=de_DE.iso8859-1 licq or -15?
