#1579: Selecting files in file dialog works only the second time

What I did:
Using the qt4 gui, I tried to select some files for sending. I clicked
them and pressed "Open".
What I got:
The text buffer in the file dialog was cleared, and the dialog stayed
open, the files were not transferred into the message window.
The second time I did this, the files do get transferred and the dialog
closes.
What I expected:
This should happen on the first time.
