The eclipse plugin does mostly support the interactive shell, but the integration isn't that great right now (I'm allowed to crtique it, as I added it). I'm working on upgrading for better functionality. In the meantime, if you're not using windows, you should be able to run the interpreter via right clicking on a project in the Package explorer and selecting "Scala -> Create interpreter in XYZ"
