Im afraid your mistaken about it previously having different behavior - its always behaved in the same way it does now :-) As per mine and Derek's convo above, there is rational for needing the trailing slash, and perhaps it should be a configurable option in LiftRules. Off the top of my head, i'm not sure how deeply rooted the current behavior is. Anywho, i'll have a dig around this weekend and see what the options are.
